What exactly is muscle soreness? Muscle soreness can be caused by muscle damage, tissue damage, muscle spasms which results in overall micro trauma resulting in a type of cellular damage. This may be the leading cause of overtraining and being uncomfortable for a few days after training. And continual cellular damage over and over to the point where the body cannot recover can result in overtraining.

Before training, try leg elevations. Since many of us stand or sit for long periods of time before going to the gym and training, overall circulation is less than ideal. Instead, 20-30 minutes before you train, lay down with your feel against a wall or other object and get the blood back to your upper body and heart. You’ll improve your circulation especially when you train legs or your lower back. After your workout, your body is in a prime time to devour nutrients. This is an ideal time to give it the protein it needs with the carbohydrates for energy recovery. You see, if muscle soreness is caused by micro trauma resulting in cellular damage then obviously you want to give your body plenty of materials quickly to repair itself. Proper post workout nutrition can reduce the amount of soreness you can experience. Other ways to keep sore muscles at bay include massage, sauna, whirlpool, chiropractic adjustments, acupressure and others are among the more popular therapeutic modalities. Also, don’t forget sleep. Remember that this is the time your body repairs all that micro trauma so if youaren’t getting enough quality sleep, it can affect your overall recovery and body’s ability to repair itself. That can lead to prolonged muscle soreness. The amount of sleep each person needs will vary.

Muscle soreness is uncomfortable but using any or all of the above recovery methods you can significantly reducethe duration of muscle soreness. Things not to try: aspirin-it may inhibit protein synthesis in the body. Alcohol, for obvious reasons. And if the pain just does not seem to be going away, get to a doctor for a checkup. It may be something else.

Taking over-the-counter painkiller multiple times a day and regularly is not advisable for health anytime. This
especially is a difficult situation for them who suffer from severe attacks often. Taking a pill or two would
definitely lessen or free you from the headache but this medication is simply not meant to be taken every day.
Though some people may have them regularly without complications, but these over the counter pills are absolutely not approved by FDA for regular intake.

Variety of Headache Cures
There are an umpteen number of ways to relieve the headache; the degree of effectiveness may vary between people. The trick is to try these remedies and find the one that works for you. Cure for a headache is attacking
different causes for different people depending on their sources of pain. Different methods will work for
different people because their source of headache is different from others’.

Alternatives to Chemistry
The most conventional remedy to relive headache is to apply a cold or a warm compress to the head. While a cold
compress may work for some people it might not be as effective for others and instead a warm compress may work
wonders in attaining relief. Typically, a migraine headache can be cured by a cold compress to the head whereas a
warm compress, at the back of neck is effective in relaxing relax the muscles and relieving a tension
headache.Grabbing good sound nap in a dark room with the compress is highly effective in lessening the pain. If
you have getting sleep, a relaxing massage would help big time. Typically, music and physical activity aggravate
a headache.

Always keep a check on your eating and drinking. Dehydration causes headache which can easily bee avoided by
drinking more water. The cause of a migraine headache may also be food-related. A food diary should help you
track the food that instigate the pain especially those which have high caffeine levels. Taking care of these
habits would defiantly lessen your pill intake.

It’s no surprise to anyone that the typical American family has changed. In the 1950′s marriage usually meant the
end of any job a woman may have had. The woman’s focus was now on taking care of her family. That just seems
unreasonable now considering the facts. Number 1 being more single women than ever are raising their children
alone. Even in families with both parents present, the average household has both parents working, spending
little time with their children.

This leads to a tremendous decline in the traditionalfamily table. There is a rush between mothers getting their
children from school, changed, and over to their after school activities. They then drop them off to go pick up
siblings from other activities. I have been watching this process for years amongst my peers. This leads to the
drive thru dinner solution in most cases. No more of mom staying home and cooking healthy meals from scratch.
It’s just not a realistic expectation everyday. I am no exception. Maybe doctors are correct that we are
genetically pre-designed to be obese, but isn’t it time for us to break that cycle with the information and
abilities that we have since the 1950′s.

I have a full job schedule, classes, and the exasperating responsibility of 2 sons, 15 and 3. My husband is a
tremendous help, but the truth is, they get a home cooked dinner on the weekends, and that doesn’t necessarily
make it an overly nutritious healthy meal. We do live in New Orleans after all. We’re not known for our health
food! I have tried to reduce my usage of cooking oils, butter, salt, and seasonings, but that doesn?t stop them
from loading it on themselves despite my objections.

So supplements have become my answer to the years of damage we have already done to our bodies in my family. So
what about the rest of America?

The wellness industry statistics states these alarming facts:

* 400,000 people are dying each year from obesity, and obesity related diseases.
* Estimated 70% of the marketplace is overweight.
* 7 out of 10 doctor visits are due to fatigue.
* Today’s generation is the 1st generation of Americans in 200 years NOT expected to outlive their parents!

(THAT SCARES ME!)
* 1/3 of children are +–at risk to develop type 2 diabetes
* 1 out of 4 children are clinically obese!

These are staggering and alarming facts! I hate to think of my children not outliving me! We need to recognize
the drive thru is our enemy, yet millions of us will drive thru one today for a “quick bite”. It has become a
habit we need to take a step back from.

We need better nutrition and we need it now! If not for yourself, at least implement a nutritional supplement
into your kids diets as I have mine. There is no excuse for not giving them at least a simple multi-vitamin per
day. Make sure it’s one worth the money! The grocery store vitamins are not always as great as they appear. It’s
just the big companies have the means to market their product in a way to convince the majority that they need
their product.

Take a good look at your children. What are you teaching them about health and nutrition? What are they learning
about it in school? Are they getting physical exercise, or do they spend their free time in front of a TV or
computer screen? Are they the weight they should be for their age and height?

We all love our children, and as all parents, we want them to do better in life than we have. Why are we
stripping them of that opportunity by feeding them junk? I make them nutritious shakes that they love and ask for
everyday, along with not just any old vitamin, but one I have complete faith in. I want my children to be there
for their own children. I have changed their diets now. No more super-sized meals!
They are now more healthy and happy!

Hazardous Materials and I’m an Independent Distributor for Herbalife. I also help people with much more than
health, but also exercise and personal development. I love to spend time with my family, read and listen to
music.

Snoring is a health problem and more than that, it is also a major problem for relationship. There is no dearth of instances where best of the relationships have broken since one of the partners used to snore resulting in sleep disruption and high irritation for his or her counterpart. Snore stoppers arrived and are making good in the market against such backgrounds.

Long Evolution

Medical scientists have always been on the job for finding out the most effective solutions for this perennial problem with human beings. Snore stoppers as effective solutions have come a long way from the magic pillows to the nose plugs but it is necessary to know exactly how one could get rid of these irritating problems.

Snore Stopper in The Past

A host of products in form of branded and non-brand snore stoppers are available in the market. However, for selection of the best of the lot it would be good to learn about the features of quality products. Also one may have a look at the products and methods used in the past.

In the past women used to sew rocks or hard balls in the back of the bed shirt of the person snoring. This made lying on the back near impossible and snoring stopped.

A jab in the ribs could perform the same trick as snore stopper. It almost results in quit snoring or turning over. However, there is the danger of either snorer getting hurt accidentally or turning violent as the result of multiple jabs.

Piling blankets or pillows around the snorer makes it difficult to lie on the back and snore. But blankets and pillows can get dislodged resulting in return of the snoring dragon all over again.

When nothing worked, the sufferers used to change room to sleep in a different room leaving the snoring party the sole ownership of one room where he or she has been sleeping.

Modern Snore Stoppers

Medical science has been trying to provide better solutions for snoring problem taking it as one of the diseases and finding out treatments. Major products are ?

Dental devices that make more money for the dentist than working as snore stopper.

Surgeries that is not effective most of the times besides being painful.

Wrist bands or devices that give shock to the snorer when it detects snoring.

Nasal dilators that is best among the lot, is natural, and mostly effective.

What Causes Snoring?

Clinical studies have revealed that almost one third of those who are above 40 suffer from snoring problems and they are regular snorers. Usually snoring is caused by one or more the following factors:

Nasal blockage;

Floppy soft palate; and

Problems in the throat that is greatest reasons for snoring.

Popular Products in the Market

Many popular products are available in the market that include ?

Stop snoring spray used to clear the bronchial passage;

Products that help breakdown of mucus formed in the body;

Nasal strips that prevents breathing problems; and

Positioning of the body for proper breathing.

In any case, surgery or dental devices are not the true solution to the snoring problem. Nasal devices are the best among the lot.

Discover if you have one or more of the symptoms of sleep apnea! Snoring jaw supporter could be an easy and effective solution to quit snoring.

Natural Effective Solutions:

1. Carefully observe guidelines for healthy eating. Avoid as much as possible cooked oils, white flour, meat,
white sugar, and any foods, which have been over processed or have chemical additives.

2. Eat whole grains, fresh vegetables and fruits and a little raw unheated vegetable oil each day.

3. Occasional fasting helps to purify the blood vessels. One could fast on apples, pears or brown rice or do a
juice fast for a few days. If one wants to do a longer fast, consult your doctor. Fasting on grapes is considered
one of the most effective ways to purify the blood.

4. Vitamins and antioxidants help with better circulation: A, C, E, and Lecithin, B complex (especially B3, B2).

5. Alternating Hot and cold baths help the blood flow to penetrate into all parts of the body. In general
finishing with a cold shower helps stimulate circulation. Consult your doctor as to whether this is for your specific case.

6. Dress warmly so as to allow your blood vessels to be relaxed and let blood flow.

7. Swimming in the sea all year long helps to keep the circulation flowing and the body vital. One must be
regular. If you cease for a period of time, your body will loose its ability to adapt to the cold water in the
winter.

8. Nettle tea and beating the extremities with nettles is a folk remedy for increasing circulation to the
extremities. This may be painful while doing it, but it brings results.

9. Reflexology massage can be used to bring circulation to organs, which cannot be affected by other means. By massaging the reflex point on the bottom of the foot we are able to bring blood flow to the various interior
organs, so as to revitalize them.

10. Swedish muscular massage can be used to bring better blood flow to the various extremities.

11. All forms of movement and activity are helpful, i.e. running, walking, dancing, swimming, playing, sports and exercising. These are a must for those with poor circulation.

12. Breathing facilitates the return of the blood through the veins to the heart. When we breathe deeply and
slowly, we help the blood to return to the heart an also move the lymph through the system. Deep breathing every day is an essential for those with circulatory problems.

13. When we relax the blood vessels, our blood flows freely to the various parts of our body. We tend to obstruct the free flow of blood through unconscious tensing of the various muscles and also the blood vessels themselves. Relaxation is essential for healthy circulation. Perform «deep relaxation» daily, imagining the blood vessels opening and the blood flowing freely to the parts of the body which have insufficient circulation.

14. Various forms of heat, such as hot compresses, hot water bottles, and electric heating pads can be used to
increase the circulation momentarily to various parts of the body.

15. Physical Exercises

a. The abdominal area is considered the «furnace» of the body, where heat and energy are produced. Sluggishness and tension in this area can impede our general flow of energies and also blood. Thus, you will need to do a number of exercises to stimulate and vitalize the area of the abdomen.

b. The endocrine system regulates our overall metabolism. You would do well to learn and employ specific
exercises for rejuvenating and harmonizing the endocrine system.

c. Add other exercises for the various joints such as the shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers, hips, knees, ankles and toes according to where you need better circulation. Even if our problems are located at the extremities such as with the fingers and toes, we have to open up all the other joints, which come before them. Although the symptoms may be in the extremities, the cause may be in one of the preceding joints. It is usually at the joints that the circulation gets blocked.

Ensure good circulation to the brain by lying on your back next to a wall and placing your feet up on the
wall, so that the blood flows into the lungs gaining oxygen and then into the brain oxygenating and bringing
nutrients to all the cells of the brain. This is essential for the pituitary and hypothalamus and thus for the
endocrine and autonomic nervous system and thus for all bodily and mental functions.16. Observe to see if emotional factors are involved. You may have an unconscious holding and a need for control of feelings or expression, which is also restricting the free flow of blood. If you are suppressing your emotions, learn to express them in effective and positive ways (without hurting others).
When we care for our body and mind, they serve us much more efficiently.

May you be well on all levels of your being.

If you haven’t found a good practice software, your search is probably still on. Finding just the right practice management software is not easy and it’s like dating. You find a good companion and you’re set for life. Find the wrong one and you’ll have a lot of headaches and feel like you’re stuck because you spent so much on the wedding. But seriously, you want to be able to create a great soap note and you don’t want to have to go to EHR school in order to be able to use it. Knowing where to start is the hardest part. Sit down and really think about your own personal needs. What do you really want to be able to do with your EHR software. Don’t change your chiropractic practice style completely just to say you are electronic now. Decide what your top 10 needs are and then go from there. Schedule 3 – 5 chiropractic software demos and ask a lot of questions.

Your office management software is important as well. It’s best if you can find one that your records software will be able to export into so that your billing specialist has less work and more time to do other chores that will benefit your chiropractic office.

Customer service is also a key component of a good company to go with. If they are not courteous, helpful, and easy to contact, you should probably run the other direction.

Three case studies reported in the September 2005 issue of the British scientific journal, Clinical Chiropractic, highlighted the success of chiropractic care on patients with long term asthma. The study performed at the University Of Surrey Chiropractic clinic, reported that asthma is the most common chronic disease in the United Kingdom, with nearly 3.5 million people affected, including 1.3 million children.

These studies document three separate cases of individuals who had suffered with asthma for years. The first was a 28-year-old athletic male who had been suffering from asthma since childhood. The study notes that his symptoms were most prevalent when exercising and at night. He was using an inhaler daily in the morning and at night before going to bed. The report then notes that he began a program of chiropractic care. The study reported that a few weeks into his care he felt so good that one night he forgot to use his inhaler. He reported that he suffered no ill-effects and reported he had a “great night’s sleep”. From that point forward he reportedly did not use his inhaler at night, and was extremely pleased with the results achieved from chiropractic care.

The next case was a 56-year-old woman who had been diagnosed with asthma 5 years previously. She reported that her main symptoms were chest tightness and coughing. After just 2 weeks of chiropractic care, she reported feeling “much better within herself”. She reported that she found it much easier to breathe with less coughing. Additionally she also reported feeling less tired, and had also noticed that her dry skin had apparently also shown dramatic improvement. “I knew this treatment was having an effect as I could feel the changes happening.”

The third case in this report was of a 26-year-old woman, who had suffered with asthma since childhood. In her case she played rugby competitively for a ladies’ team and she reported that she was always having to stop during the game to use her inhaler. She would also awaken each night wheezing and have to use her inhaler. In her case, after starting chiropractic, she reported being able to play a whole game of rugby without needing her inhaler once, and was sleeping through the night uninterrupted.

The report noted that “the mechanism by which chiropractic is thought to affect asthma is based upon the proposition that spinal adjustment can modify autonomic nervous system”.

Buying a domain name itself isn’t difficult. Finding a good domain for your practice and chiropractic marketing
is more challenging. It is important to choose a name that is easy to remember and fits in well with your SEO
strategy. But, don’t worry if you cannot find your first domain name of choice; we can work with others.
Keep the goal of your chiropractic domain name in mind.Keep in mind the quality and frequency of your content is going to be more valuable than the best domain name. The domain name will be how people find you, so it cannot be too different from your overall business identity.

You can start searching on line by entering in the domain name into your Google window or GoDaddy domain name
window (or other domain name purchasing site like: Active Domain, Buy Domains, etc. and see what comes up. We
don’t suggest this as it really serves no purpose and only leads to frustration. Heck, you may unknowingly pass
up on a good domain name and purchase one that doesn’t fit as well.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is an identification label that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority, or
control in the Internet, based on the Domain Name System (DNS). In other words it is the name used that directs people to your website.

Opinions are abound regarding the topic of domain name purchases. The domain name you buy depends on what you are
trying to accomplish with your website. Write down some choices next to each number to get your brainstorming
juices flowing.

Here are 5 ways you can pick your chiropractic domain names to purchase.
1. Buy your own name
Great idea unless your name is common and already taken. The opposite would be a name all but impossible to
spell. Take Arnold Schwarzenegger for instance, sure everyone knows the name, but who can always remember exactly
how to spell it? Buying your practice name is the other option. People will type in your name and your business
name first when trying to find you through a search.
2. Buy your location
The town where you practice may be easy to remember, but it has nothing to do with your business. True, but write
down some names of places in your area that everyone knows and remembers. This could be a big City name like New
York City all the way to a city area name, such as Willow Heights. Prominent street names work too, if everyone
knows the street, i.e. Main Street Chiropractic, if your practice is located on Main street.
3. What about your technique name?
Most likely your technique name is already purchased and being used. But, if we combine your technique name with
the area you practice, that may work. Just keep in mind, the assumption is people will know your technique. It is
unlikely new patients will find you directly this way, but returning patients might. It also allows you some
unique branding regarding your practice identity. You can also choose your speciality, ie. lakeshorewellness.com,
lakeshoresportsdoc.com, lakeshoreinjury.com, etc.
4. Check out other practice domain names
Take a look at other practice and health related domain names in your community. I’m not saying buy similar
names, look and see how they are using their names to create their own unique on line identity. You may get some
good ideas. If they are on page one of Google and in a area of high concentration of other chiropractors, also
marketing on line, then they may have some idea about internet marketing. Means they either know something about
SEO or got lucky. Either way, they have something to teach.
5. Pick a domain name people search
Search terms are words people use to find what they are looking for on the web. This is known as a “keyword”.
This could include conditions such as Fibromyalgia, low back pain, headaches, etc. Beware, these specific names
need to be used properly. Some docs have more than one website each with specific conditions emphasized and fully
explored on the site.

In computer programming, a keyword is a word or identifier that has a particular meaning to the programming
language. The meaning of keywords — and, indeed, the meaning of the notion of keyword — differs widely from
language to language.

Keyword use is beyond the scope of this post in chiropractic marketing, but we will get into this topic in more
detail later.

Quick Tip: Check out the Google AdWords keyword tool. Enter in some of the keywords you would like to use in your
domain and see what pops up. This free keyword tool will show you how often the word is searched and how
competitive the keyword is in paid search.

Suffice to say picking a chiropractic domain name based on a keyword is good for helping people find you when
doing an online search, but difficult to brand your practice. For example the keyword phrase “neck-pain-Your-
Town” may be the way people are searching for your services in your area, but choosing a domain name based solely
on this fact may limit you in the future. You may rank high for neck pain searches in Your-Town, but not so well
with other keyword terms.
Chiropractic domain name with domain forwarding

Answer: Buy another domain name to brand yourself. You can buy a domain name and have it point to your website of
choice. This is called domain redirection or URL forwarding (Uniform Resource Locator). You will need to change
the settings from the domain name company you purchased the name from, to point (redirect) to the website you
choose.

Choosing a domain with your phone number in it does not help your search rankings much and should generally be
avoided. Take it from me, this doesn’t work, I tried it. And I have a nice domain name for sale with a now
defunct phone number in it if you want to buy it. : ))

Here is a must do list, try to get as many as you can when choosing your chiropractic domain name:
Do List:

Buy a (Dot)”.com” name over any other- no dot-net’s, dot-org’s, dot-me’s, etc.
Buy your business name
You can use dashes in the domain name if others are taken. ie. Franklinchiropractic.com is taken, but

Franklin-chirorpactic.com isn’t. Careful or you may drive your web traffic the other site as your clientele keeps

forgetting to type the dash in your domain.
Choose a name that is memorable and/or easy to say
Short names are better than long names, keep it as short as possible
Keep your domain relevant to the content of your website
Type out your name does it look right, dranklor.com (Dr. Anklor) sounds okay, but drank-lor doesn’t fit so well

Don’t List:

Don’t buy a .us, .org, .tv, .me or other
Don’t worry about upper case and lower case letters
Don’t be impulsive
Don’t let some sweet talking internet guru, or company, or whoever buy your domain name

Resources:

Domain name research and providers:

GoDaddy.com

This past year has been quite a whirlwind for all of us who have tried to learn about Meaningful Use and put it into action. We have done our best to help our doctors and their staff learn how to implement it for the first time, but if you are going to continue in the program, you really MUST do some research of your own so that you will know exactly what they are looking for in the stages yet to come. This WILL be time consuming, but there is no way around that since there is nothing simple about implementing MU. This is a program that they are paying you thousands of dollars to have you implement, and will probably be used for years to come and as you know, they aren’t going to give you something for doing nothing. This is your business and you need to understand how it’s going to work for the long term.

If you did a 90 day window of attestation in 2011, you will do the entire 366 (leap year)days in 2012. If you haven’t done any attestation in 2011 and are starting in 2012, you still only have to choose a 90 day window for your first round. All years after your first one, will be the entire year for reporting purposes.
